R. Natraj" <nn07+@andrew.cmu.edu> Subject: Problem: Xfree86, ATI Ultra Pro Lines: 20 I am having problems running Xfree86 on a Gateway 2000 4DX-33 with an ATI Graphics Ultra Pro Video card, Crystal Scan 1024NI monitor and Microsoft mouse. When I run xinit I get the following: XFree86 Version 1.1 / X Window System (protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 5000) Configured drivers: VGA256 (256 colour SVGA): et4000, et3000, pvga1, gvga, ati, tvga8900 XIO: fatal IO error 32 (Broken pipe) on X server ":0.0" after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining. The connection was probably broken by a server shutdown or KillClient. I am quite sure the problem has to do something with the Xconfig file I am using. I would greatly appreciate hearing from people who have Xfree86 up and running on a similar machine. Mucho thanks in advance. Natraj.
