It's the way the freebsd port handles things ... netscape is a wrapper script, that sets some environment variables and then calls netscape.bin, which is in fact the real netscape binary ... > where did I go wrong? Update your copy of the FreeBSD ports collection. Possibly you have to update your make's makro files as well: -r--r--r-- 1 bin bin 47280 6 Dez 05:11 /usr/share/mk/bsd.port.mk -r--r--r-- 1 bin bin 2472 6 Dez 05:11 /usr/share/mk/bsd.port.subdir.mk If the installation of the netscape3 port still fails, then please make a bug report using send-pr or contact the MAINTAINER of the netscape port. All I can say ... the port definively works. please, next time definitively say, *what* you did exactly and what error messages you saw on the screen _thanks_ ! -- andreas@klemm.gtn.com /\/\___ Wiechers & Partner Datentechnik GmbH Andreas Klemm ___/\/\/ Support Unix -- andreas.klemm@wup.de pgp p-key http://www-swiss.ai.mit.edu/~bal/pks-toplev.html >>> powered by <<< ftp://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/system/Printing/aps-491.tgz >>> FreeBSD <<<
