look into ports-current, there you should find a working netscape 3
port.

You surely didn't follow the Install docu from Netscape ....

It's the way the freebsd port handles things ... netscape is a wrapper
script, that sets some environment variables and then calls netscape.bin,
which is in fact the real netscape binary ...

Update your copy of the FreeBSD ports collection.
Possibly you have to update your make's makro files as well:

-r--r--r-- 1 bin bin 47280 6 Dez 05:11 /usr/share/mk/bsd.port.mk
-r--r--r-- 1 bin bin 2472 6 Dez 05:11 /usr/share/mk/bsd.port.subdir.mk

If the installation of the netscape3 port still fails, then please
make a bug report using send-pr or contact the MAINTAINER of the
netscape port.

All I can say ... the port definively works. please, next time
definitively say, *what* you did exactly and what error messages
you saw on the screen _thanks_ !
