Thanks very much for the help.  All is working fine now.

Apparently what was causing it *was* the fact that I was trying to do a
DOS install from a partition that was greater than 512MB.

I enlarged the 1meg partition on the Maxtor drive (slave in 2 drive
setup) to 30meg then ran the install from there.  Didn't feel like
downloading the entrie thing again to install over ppp (not that I can
get it too work quite yet anyways <g>).

So basically this can act as a work around I guess until it gets fixed
or something.  Sure...ya lose some storage that you originally allocated
for FreeBSD, but hey...29megs on a 540meg drive aint bad compared to the
time you save over the ppp install option.

So far it's handling my bad sectors just fine but I haven't really done
alot of disk writes yet.
