OpenLook was not a technically superior product. Granted it was easier to use and prettier than Motif but it was a horrible hack. I'm glad of its demise. Alas, Motif is about the worst example of commercial s/w I have ever seen (MS Windows 3.x comes a close second). Motif has done more for Microsoft than any single thing in the Unix vs Windows wars. Can anyone say they think Motif is attractive? Easy to use? Bug free? Unfortunately Sun tried to carry the industry's workload on its shoulders for too long. Their back snapped and they finally conceded to an industry norm. Alas, we are no better off for it.... _______________________________________________________ | Paul David Fox Lehman Brothers. | | ###################### E-mail: pfox@lehman.com | | # This space for rent# Home: fox@crisp.demon.co.uk | | ###################### Tel: +44 171 601 0011 x6397 | ** I do not speak for Lehmans.
