Have a look at 'Sun Solstice Print Client'. It's supposed to be
the first glimpse of the new print model that Sun, Dec and Xerox
are cooperating on. It currently only supports print clients.
On the server side you have to use the stock software.

I have the print client stuff set up here, and it really works.
The SVR4 print stuff used to get very upset (we have ~200 print
queues). But in 2.5.1, even the stock print sw seems to be more
stable (that's what we have to use on the central spooler that
all print goes through).

It's located on the Solstice CD in the server pack.

True for packages that mean 'System V release < 4'.
For those packages it was usually easier to port the BSD version.
SVR4 *is* a combination of two worlds, and it has very much
SunOS and BSD, not just System V.
