[This is a re-post - our news feed went down around the same time I
made the original post - I do not know if it got out or not]

I have been having a problem with the portmapper.  on boot, 
nfsd and mountd report that they can not register with portmap

rpcinfo (rpcinfo -p ) only reports the portmap as running. None of the programs
started by inetd show up.

I have re-compiled the portmap, mountd with no success.
