Not an expensive exercise, but a bit of a hassle. You ought to check up on your fans/ventilation... your CPU fan might be dieing, (causing the CPU to overheat during heavy use?), or you may not have enough ventilation... add another case fan, get a new ball bearing cooling fan, or... some people add thermal grease between the CPU and heat sink... If you're overclocking, ... shame on you... no wonder it's overheating. if you aren't... maybe set the CPU to a slightly lower speed... if this fixes the problem, you've either got a defective CPU or your fans/heat sinks aren't working or aren't good enough. But then again, this could be a totally different problem. -- dlacroix@cslab.vt.edu dlacroix@vt.edu
