The progress of a chain letter is so rapid that the number of participants who continue the chain is soon exhausted. Later investors recieve no payment or prize, they instead become LOSERS. For example. a typical chain letter scheme may require participants to mail letters containing money to six new participants, each of whom must mail six letters to six more individuals, and so on. But, as you can see from the chart below, the scheme soon requires more participants than there are people in the U.S. LEVEL OF MAILING # OF PARTICIPANTS 1 6 2 36 3 216 4 1296 5 7776 6 46656 7 279936 8 1679616 9 10077696 10 60466176 ______________________________________U.S. population: 226504825 11 362797056 12 2176782336 ______________________________________WORLD POPULATION:3860000000 13 13060694016 and so on. Also, these sort of scams are ILLEGAL and are a federal offense.
