Rezac) Newsgroups: comp.unix.bsd Subject: 386bsd portmap failure Message-ID: <1642@dcsc.dla.mil> Date: 25 Nov 92 18:52:48 GMT Organization: Defense Construction Supply Center, Columbus Lines: 31 I have 386bsd installed on an ASL 386, 4m memory, 120m ide drive. when I try to run nfs, nfsd and mountd return the error Can't register with portmap I can run rpcinfo from another system, and all it will show is the portmap : 100000 2 tcp 111 portmapper 100000 2 udp 111 portmapper I have re-loaded the bin01 distribution, but that had no effect.
