Got the M$ TCP32B.EXE TCP/IP stack for WFW 3.11. There is another one sitting on simtel that I'm going to pull down and evaluate as well with an email package that supports SMTP/POP. : This sort of thing is a lot easier with Win95 'cos all the TCP & NetBIOS : on TCP stuff comes as standard. Also, M$s mailnews.exe & IE packages : will do the rest for you. Is mailnews.exe a WFW or strictly Win95 program? Excuse my Win ignorance, it was not until recently I was force fed Win sysadm duties in a *nix server based LAN. Until a couple of weeks ago, I didn't do 'doze. : As far as the transparent stuff is concerned, it depends on what you've : got your FreeBSD box plugged into. If it's a serial ISP connection, the : upcoming ppp with -alias support is your man. If it's a direct connection, : you may want to try socks5 or ipfilter(NAT). It's going to be a dialin 33.6K connection via PPP for now. I've been following the PPP articles closely and saving them for future reference. This may be good for additional material for the handbook or a webpage since PPP has become the new network daemon that needs to be properly sysadm'd into submission. :) When is the -alias support due in? 2.2? This alone may justify me to get the snapshot release over the stable release if it's in there. -- /* ** Internet: jca@accessnv.com | Don't blame me, I didn't vote for Clinton. ** jca@anv.net | Intel is the word for 'errata.' *************************************************************************** ** Note: Please direct all unsolicited commercial e-mail (Spam) to the ** special account postmaster@accessnv.com.
