It IS 2.2-ALPHA's PS/2 mouse driver (psm) problem. It has many known
problems and it is now being worked on.

Until the fix is incorporated into 2.2, you may re-synchronize your
mouse and the X server by switching away from the X server session to
a virtual console and coming back. I know it's tedious, but it often
works...
