Message-ID: <JOCHEN.92Dec2201641@busybit.mrz.sub.org> Date: 3 Dec 92 04:16:41 GMT Sender: jochen@busybit.mrz.lm.sub.org (Jochen Fahrner) Organization: Busybit's Software Labor, D-8068 Pfaffenhofen Lines: 20 X-Md4-Signature: 3ecb1e6e19f79b476fdf099508b887c6 Today I wanted to connect a scsi cartridge tape drive to my 386BSD system with adaptec 1542B, but I did not succeed. My tape drive has target id 6, but I tried also other ids. I did "mknod /dev/rct c 4 48" and tried a tar command to this device, but all that happened was a core dump of tar. cpio did not dump core, but it writes to nirwana :-( nothing happened. On system startup, my scsi harddisk is recognized, but there is no message about my tape drive. Do I have to configure something ???? In the config file "GENERICISA" there are entries for disks, but I did not find any examples about tape drives. Can someone help me ?
