I have been looking around for a decent ethernet sniffer that runs
on BSDI. Sniffit when compiled for FreeBSD will work on BSDI machines
however I have experienced a problem with a particular BOX using an
ne0 -- NE2000 -- ether card. When I run the sniffer on this BSDI box,
the machine locks up completely or perhaps just locks out network
traffic. I cannot tell since I am coming in remotely. I anyone can point
me to another place where I can aquire source for a different sniffer
that will compile on BSDI please do so. Ethier that or show me how to
use tcpdump to produce output which will unravel the data in a packet to
plaintext ascii in a readable format. Thanks for the help.

P.S. Has anyone else experienced the same problems with sniffit
specifically or otherwise with attempting to run a sniffer on NE2000(ne)
interfaces?
