Thanks for any information.. This is what's known as the AOL shoots itself in the foot syndrome. AOL have discovered that some servers (Apache 1.2) have moved on to the HTTP/1.1 protocol. AOL haven't read/understood the specs so rather than do that first, they've chosen to block access to 1.1 servers while they investigate the implications. I've been running 1.2 as a HTTP/1.1 server for months and AOL users have had no problems with it (and why should they ?). Now, AOL users going through the AOL proxy are faced with a canned AOL message that my server is using an unsupported HTTP language. Pah! Now that AOL are aware of the problem, they're doing their best to save face by trying to get the Apache developers to hack Apache 1.2 to pretend to be HTTP/1.0 while AOL sit on their hands for a while before undoing their recent idiotic proxy change. The AOL manager who okay'd this move should be made to answer the AOL phone support lines for a year as punishment. If you want to do something, read http://www.apache.org/info/aol-http.html and complain to AOL at web-support@aol.net -- Rob Hartill.
