I have FreeBSD 2.1.5 installed on a Dell Dimension XPS P100c. The boot disk
for version 2.1.5 worked just fine and I've been using that version for some
time now. But when I try to upgrade, I can't seem to get either the 2.1.6
boot disk or the 2.2-ALPHA boot disk to NOT lock up my keyboard as soon as I
get the familiar blue main menu.

I've tried enabling and disabling any number of drivers with no success.

So in addition to the this bit of information, can anybody tell me if it's
at all possible (and safe) to upgrade some other way?

Thanks.
