Tell me that mounting a disk isn't obscene. What about fingering someone? You can't tell me you haven't given anyone the finger, now, have you? How about uptime? I personally find this to be one of the most hiliarious threads I've ever read on Usenet. A good candidate for alt.best.of.internet. I can just picture it now. The censor police from the christnet heirarchy now over obscene error messages, OS commands and system calls. THERE'S A NAUGHTY WORD IN NFS.C! OH NO! HE'S MOUNTING A DISK! It would make Ed Meese and Jessie Helms proud. :: quality software, whether in comments or in user visible output. it :: certainly doesn't reflect well on the programmer, nor on the linux :: community as a whole. Best way to describe some of the language would be comparable to a Stand Up Act by the late Sam Kinison. :D :: This appears to be a lonely limb to climb out on, but I agree with :: you. I think it more or less describes the programmer's attitude about Sun code. Keep in mind that the source code to FreeBSD and Linux is readily available, you could always change it. Perhap we need a new language rating system for the OSes. : That language, while I don't personally agree with it, does show the : programmers have a personality and are real people.
