First, when I telnet in, I would just use the vt100 term type, but for some reason, nothing would work properly. Therefore, I copied the termcap entries for cons25 and all assosiated entries. Now when I log in and set the term type to cons25, pine tells me "Your terminal, of type "ansis", is lacking functions needed to run pine." If I login with a term type of cons25w, pine works fine, but vi tells me "ansiw: unknown terminal type. Visual needs addressable cursor or upline capabiity." I am at a loss. I know that there has to be people who telnet into Sun machines and have no problems. I'd appreciate any help from somebody who has delt with this before. If this helps, even when I rlogin or telnet in from X and use xterm as the term type, it still doesn't work 100%. The only way I can get a session to work properly is to rlogin/telnet into my Sun machine, then execute "xterm -display freebsdpc:0" TIA for any help J England jengland@enetis.net
