some of the krb/des libs for 2.2-alpha are buggy (i.e. read someone
made a big booboo when coding them .. so I hear :)   For now use the 
use the 2.1 libs (lib[des/krb]2.1 as opposed to lib[des/krb]3.0). This
should be solved in 2.2-RELEASE.
