Why is it that upgrading a FreeBSD system can't be done without the user
losing configurations or files? Will it always be like this? 

It would be nice if at least while in the same version number such as 2.1.5 
to 2.1.6 the upgrades would be more automated. If this is a FAQ please just
let me know where I can read the answer.
