I know because I had a similar problem. My ISP only supported the POP3 protocol at the time and the Pine online help suggested that it required IMAP. You just need to configure your Pine correctly. What you have to configure is the "inbox-path". The online help (in v3.91) says it must be an IMAP server - this is false. I found out about this from the comp.mail.pine FAQ and also the official Pine documents from the Pine Information Center. Your Pine can automatically fetch Pine docs for you if you ask it. I asked my ISP to support IMAP and they were happy to do so. Unfortunately, I no longer have the POP3 setup for Pine. PS I found Pine to be an excellent product - very flexible and robust and very easy to use. -- David May email: mayd@cygnus.uwa.edu.au phone: +61 41 216 8967
