So if this was overdriving your disk interface, : it might cause data corruption later. AFAIR, most PCI BIOSes try to : auto-probe the allowable PIO speed. The bios setup shows modes 0-4 or 0-3, and I tried executing in all of these modes with similar results. I did not try re-installing in each mode, so if there is some info embedded in the format, it didn't get changed between tests.
