"Idiots" may do it wrong the first time, so don't execute step 6, but copy the new kernel to a copy of a dist.fs/fixit.fs floppy and boot from it, instead of booting from hard disk. A bad modification may crash your kernel during load and could damage the HD filesystem. A dist floppy is not so expensive. >Easy when you know how :) But bad, if you give dangerous advice. >Adrian >-- >+-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ >| Adrian Hall E-Mail: adrian@ibmpcug.co.uk (Inter) | >| Connect Systems Manager ..!pipex!ibmpcug!adrian (UUCP) | >| Tel: +44 (0)81 863 1191 Dial-Up BBS - +44 (0)81 863 6646 | >+-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Holger -- | | / Dr. Holger Veit | INTERNET: veit@du9ds3.fb9dv.uni-duisburg.de |__| / University of Duisburg | "XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX | | / Dept. of Electr.
