I managed to create the ccd disk out of for CONNER CP30540 disks (0.5G). The I/O is about 2.5 times faster then that of the individual drives. However, I expected a near to 4 factor. Should I keep experimenting with ileave-number, or 2.5 is considered pretty good? The drives are attached to the dual channel aic7770, two drives per channel. (Does it make sence to split the load over the channels?) Another thing. If there is a need to fsck the /dev/rccd0c, fsck will hang the system :( I found that using c-partitions of my drives for ccd is _wrong_, but do not know exactly how to change the situtation: ccd0 192 none /dev/sd2s1c /dev/sd3s1c /dev/sd4s1c /dev/sd6s1c And it works if the /ccd was cleanly unmounted (no fsck neccessary)... All the drives are "Dangerously allocated", because there are no other OSes on this machine. I'll appreciate all the hints from those who use ccd succesfully. Thanks! -mi -- "Windows for dummies"
