I am trying to install NetBSD 1.2 hp-300 on my HP 433t using a 486
system running NetBSD 1.2 i386. I plan on net-booting the HP box from
the 486 and installing from there.

Inorder to get the HP binaries onto the 486 I have a MSDOS partiton
and a MSDOS partion coexisting on the same drive. I would like to d/l
the NetBSD 1.2 hp-300 binaries and NetBSD 1.2 i386 source onto the MSDOS
partition and then mount the MSDOS partition under NetBSD and copy the
binaries and source onto the NetBSD partition. This would eliminate the
hassle of setting up either a SLIP or PPP connection under NetBSD, which
doesn't look very fun.

I have tried to mount the MSDOS partition but it doesn't want to work,
here's what I've tried doing:

  #disklabel -e -r /dev/wd0d

After editing the disklabel for 6 partitions rather than 5 and adding
the MSDOS partion

  #mount -t msdos /wd0f /msdos

  I see

  msdos: mount: Device not configured

What does this mean? Am I trying to mount the MSDOS file system
correctly? What should I be doing if this is wrong?

Does the generic kernel image at

  ftp.iastate.edu/pub/netbsd/NetBSD-1.2/i386/floppies/kcadp12.fs

have MSDOSFS system support? Or will I need to re-build my own kernel
if I want this option? Does the generic install kernel support SLIP or
PPP connections? If the generic kernel does not support these option
can someone build me a kernel with the MSDOSFS option; it would have to
fit on a 1.44meg floppy)?

Does NetBSD 1.2 come with any term software, something like KERMIT?

How does one get the NetBSD 1.2 sources onto a i386 machine without a
ethernet connection(I'm home on Christmas break from school), SLIP or
PPP? I am not in the mood to setup SLIP or PPP, but it looks that's
what I'll end up doing, unless I get the MSDOS partion mounted?

Any feedback or information will help, I'm stuck. Thanks much,
