Dumps are inherently architecture and system dependant.

Well, restore does already the best it can do, and tries to interpret
the dump as being byte-swapped.  However, the UFS formats of 4.4BSD
and SunOS (in this case) diverged too much from each other, so it's
impossible to read the dump back there.

Other systems without BSD FFS (like HPUX) are even worse.
