I have the FreeBSD 2.1.5 disc and I'm trying to install it on my new computer (an AST Advantage). The problem is, the installation program cant detect my Toshiba XM-5602B CD-ROM drive. I've tried to copy the whole dists directory on to the first partition of my harddrive, but that didn't worked either. The installation says something like "read -1 bytes from dist" and gives me an option to retry or skip. My Toshiba drive is an ATAPI drive, so why wont it work? Seems like I cant boot FreeBSD with it. Any suggestions? Anton Hörnquist. (Sorry about my english)
