That is if your using 95 FreeBSD isn't accessible....and vice/versa If you want a WWW server it may be worth _considering_ Windows NT... This will give you the flexability of being able to run Windows programs at the same time.... Remember a WWW server needs to be running all the time, and posess a permanant Internet connection (possibly via an ISP) Okay so where does this leave you ???? If you have two computers available then you could do the following. Set up the Win95 computer as per normal.... Use the second as you WWW server running FreeBSD... Set the FreeBSD box up with your Internet connection and use either an ethernet card (which allows IP addressing right?) or a serial cable between the FreeBSD box and you Win95 Computer. This requires spare ports etc... But at least the FreeBSD box has been "dedicated" as a WWW server and if the appropriate daemons/protocols are installed (and you have a static IP address) then you can leave it "untouched" and use the Win95 terminal to access the FreeBSD box as required.... This setup is quite handy in reality... i.e. U can use Word on the 95 box, telnet/login to the FreeBSD box, read mail and cut and paste information into the Word document etc... The oppurtunities/configurations are quite diverse.... Hope that whets your appetite! Regards, David M. Henshaw dhenshaw@silas.cc.monash.edu.au --
