Well, here we go again. Another Compaq PCI problem. I've got a
Deskpro 5133 which I have been running FreeBSD on for a year or so
with absolutely no problems. I added an Adaptec 2940 SCSI card,
and lo and behold, FreeBSD doesn't even find the PCI bus on this
machine. I've attached the output from "dmesg" (with a -v boot), and
"scanpci" to the end of this message, if you'd like more details,
though a good clue is the message:

pcibus_setup(1): mode1res=0x8000000c (0x80000000), mode2res=0x0c (0x0e)

This doesn't appear to match anything in pcibus.c (the 0x8...c). (But
then again, I've yet to play around with PCI). Perhaps it's just a
(another) Compaq weirdness?

I am running 2.1.5-RELEASE (straight from Walnut Creek)...

Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to get this guy to work (yeah,
yeah, other than get a decent machine, I know). No problem to do
kernel tinkering, but I was hoping somebody had some ideas before I
go gleefully crashing this system on hacked kernels.

On a side note, it's interesting that the lnc0 NIC card and my
#9 Motion 771 card are seen no problem, though the NIC shows up as an
EISA card. I guess it works because the NIC is accessed through IRQ/IO,
and the video card is mapped into memory. I guess that's it, anyway...

At any rate, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
-Scott
