I am in a real bind. I am running BSDI and have been for a while. Last
week the system was broken into and some files were deleted. I have been
able to recover most of them so far. The problem that I cannot seem to
solve is that since then when a user tries to ftp into the system the
ftp server rejects him before he even inputs his password, and ftpd
logges the message "FTP LOGIN REFUSED (bad shell) FROM .....".
It looks like there is a missing shell on the system, I have not been
able to find it.
Any help would be appreciated....

At this point the server is down and users are upset...

Thanks in advance.....
