I've got pieces of excellent hardware (like my old EISA board with its 486/33 and a Bt742A controller, it's still running, though no longer at home), and only very few problems with it, even in the development version. (Though admittedly, i usually don't upgrade the development machine very often; in particular, i avoid upgrading during ``major trouble'' phases.)
