Does anyone have any experience with the longshine
ne2000 compatible adapter (LCS-8634 rev B)??

In order to isolate the problem, I am booting from tiny 386BSD.

Here are the relevant boot messages:

wd0 <WDC AC2200F> at 0x1f0 irq 14 on isa
fd0...
ne0 ethernet address 08:00:00:14:03:14 at 0x300 irq 9 on isa
386BSD Base System Release 0.1

>From this message, I take it that the system is finding the ethernet
adapter.

According to the INSTALL.NOTES, here are the configuration commands
that I issued and any responses:

# ifconfig ne0 128.84.179.78
neinitstartartstartart#
#
# route add default 128.84.179.179
add net default: gateway 128.84.179.179
# ifconfig ne0 netmask 255.255.255.0
nest# ifconfig ne0
ne0: flags=863<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING>
        inet 128.84.179.78 netmask ffffff00 broadcast 128.84.179.255
#
# ftp 128.84.179.126
stststftp: connect: Connection timed out
ftp>

All of the cables seem to be securely connected. I don't think any
packets are reaching the multiport transceiver as the light never
glows (or blinks) for the port that my adapter is connected.

If you have any clues please send responses directly to me.

Thanks,
Marty
