This load balancing stuff has been only one point and the less important one of two points regarding the subject. The other one, without going into details, is independent of load balancing and is a special reason to have several IP numbers in one computer. The fact that it's possible to install and to drive several networking cards in one machine running a BSD system and that additionally you may install multi-port networking cards and then have e.g. four times n cards giving number of ports with the same number of slots occupied, this fact is the basis I wanted to get and I got it. So in many parts it made sense.
