The your W95 box can run (e.g.) all kind of "internet" programms, including netscape, to connect. You can use telnet to login (as often as you like!) That an old speed, normally you can go up to 115k and higher, even without a fast RS232 chip (on your freeBSD box) But I have doupt about the hardware flow controll. No, 15mtr cable is way out of spec, but normally works fine! I have run long, long alo with even longer cables, bundeld with power, and video. No problem. Besides, the only problem you can get is "stange" chars on your screen, it never should disconnect you connection! Good luck, and rember, use ppp with IP on top when possible. It remove all noise on the cable !
