Ah, but you see, I find those cryptic pages a real pain in the ass. I think I got most of it down so far, but I think a significant part of my consternation comes from trying to learn a new OS in a week :) I've had to piece together bits from the BSD page, man pages, the Install and Running BSD book that came with the CD, various emails/usenet postings, etc... A single contiguous source would have been nice. Then again, it keeps the lamers away, 'cos if you ever get it set up, you'll know enough to hold a decent conversation on the topic... In any case, the help is always appreciated. If I do decide to write up a guide, where would be a good place to post it ? Would the FreeBSD documentation project be a good place ? peace, firesign
