I'm interested in running 386BSD on my 386 clone at home.
It has:
no-name 386/33 motherboard
AMI BIOS
UltraStor 12F ESDI controller
110 MEG ESDI drive
cheapo internal 2400 baud modem
super vga card and monitor
This system works great for DOS, but I'll need more disk, and a tape
drive, for 386BSD. And possibly a CD-ROM.
I'd like to continue to be able to use MSDOS, so I'd like to add
about 300Meg of drive, to hold 386BSD and sources to everything.
I'd prefer to use existing controller, and drive, if possible.
The point is, I'm trying to be cheap.
So, what tape drive and CD-ROM can co-exist with an UltraStor 12F
running 2 ESDI drives? The tape drive does not have to big, or very
high performance, I just want to be able to do dependable backups.
Any advice, suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Robert
