If Sparcs have PC-like parallel ports this could be feasible (I'm just
guessing). No sparc has IDE controllers so that could be difficult :)
Anyway: I think I remember the original post was about the differences
between Linux and FreeBSD?
That's why I didn't assume a sparc background and inserted part of my foot
into my mouth :)
