But Linux runs on more hardware than FreeBSD or OpenBSD, so it's on the
upper half of BSD's in that respect.
NetBSD's main goal is portability to different platforms, while
Linux, like FreeBSD, isn't, so I would expect that to be a more fair
comparison.

Linux also seems to have a larger userbase than any of the BSD's. At
least it seems to me that's the case. Of course I've been wrong before,
and Windows 3.1 has a larger base than any of them so it's no big deal :)
