The boot disk auto-detects the AMD SCSI controller which sits on the PCI bus, along with everything else (unlike 2.1.6 which doesn't auto-detect AMD). However, once the auto-detection process is complete, when the installation procedure normally moves along to the colorized options selection phase, it will instead just sit there, not going onward to that expected screen. We can switch virtual consoles at that point, which tells us that we are in debug mode, but we can't seem to do much else. There is nothing strange that occurs during the auto-detection process to give us any sort of clue as to what is going wrong, and when. If anyone can assist with this ordeal, please reply, and your help would be much appreciated. -- Lou Rinaldi <rinaldi@snet.net> Co-Founder, The Connecticut Free Unix Group "Many people equate the word 'daemon' with the word 'demon,' implying some kind of Satanic connection between UNIX and the underworld." -Evi Nemeth
