I am a software tinkerer/devloper at heart and when I found Linux (with
source for everyting available), I was like a kid in a candy store. I am
used to environments where you get little if any source code, and have to
write everything yourself from scrach (maybe using libraries) or put up
with what is available on the market.

Every product I have installed on my system, I have downloaded source and
compiled with very little problem. Where I did have problem, I have
tinkered with the source and got it working quickly.
With Linux, I feel I am standing on the shoulders of very generous giants,
and hope to one day contribute some code to the cause.

(It's much scarier giving away source code than object. With compiled code
no one sees your questionable decisions, lack of documentation, and
laziness). When I do release something to GNU it will have to be to a
higher standard.
