I have a Supra 14400 FaxModem. Pretty standard issue sort of
hardware in its day. (I know somebody is going to suggest I
just get a new modem so heres the answer to that: spending
money on this particular system wouldn't make sense. It's a
486, everything old and outdated.)
None of the releases after 2.1.6 can find the Supra. I've tried
all the available irq's, ports, every possible setting. I've
even tried putting the thing in different slots on the MB.
dmesg says "sioX: not found" for X=1,2,3. Haven't tried 0.
I am running 2.1.6 now, and it works fine, but would like to
try the new SNAPS. Does anybody have any idea why this
happens? Is it buggy hardware? Or might there possibly be
something in the newer kernels?
Any help greatly appreciated.
