It is really easy to do with my newsreader. The only thing broken about my newsreader that gets in my way is that it errantly puts newlines in my messages (Netscape.) > >Actually, GPL is okay in very limited instances. > > I*Y*HO. see how much i care. (yawn...) > So you don't care about the ramifications of GPL? Cool, I guess that there is no reason for you to follow up on this discussion? Given a very narrow world, GPL is always okay. In the real world, it is okay in very limited instances. Isn't that clear, or how big IS your world? It is important for people to distingush between GPL (and when it is useful), and other licensing terms. There are those who are blindly pro-GPL, and will try to flame to discredit... > > (oh, and John: you will NOT be forgiven for that debacle on the > SparcLinux mailing list. ever.) > This is an interesting statement -- I was invited into that discussion by that mailing list being included in a CC line. If my opinions weren't to be heard, I shouldn't have been invited. I know that being skeptical of GPL is an anathema in the Linux crowd -- so what? A mistake in licensing isn't my fault... Frankly, Linux should have been at least LGPL... Well, actually some eyes were opened on the problems with GPL, and frankly, I am still waiting for proof of the claims made. Also, I am glad that I have opened up some young minds. Sorry if the GPL balloon was burst for some :-). When I learned about the details of GPL, I also found out that it was only a tool (and not a religion.) It is so odd that there is so much religious fervor in some GPL advocates... :-(. No ONE license is the answer, and if there was one, single answer, -- GPL is not it. John
