I don't have this problem under NetBSD 1.1 and X11R6. Using xdaniver, remember
to use the option -once which will kill the server after one session.
Oh, and by the way, I use fvwm, although that makes no difference as I was
experiencing the same problem with all the other window managers.
It may also work because I only start the wm in .xinitrc and leave the rest
to be started in .fvwmrc.
