No serious changes in the IDE CDROM driver were made until 2.2. I can't
say for sure that 2.2R will support your IDE CDROM, but it certainly
supports more of them than 2.1.6.

Turn off any memory manager, if you're running one. I should make this
clearer in the docs.

Fixed in 2.2R

I have no idea what kind of sound card you have, so no comment is
possible.

*Shrug*. I'm sorry you feel that way, but I also know that you can't
make everyone happy and that, in fact, it could probably be argued that
a statistically significant percentage of installations will always fail
simply due to slippage in hardware specs and transient bugs in the
system. You, Conrad Sabatier, are now a member of that statistical
category and there's not a darn thing I can do about it. If you haven't
already requested a refund from Walnut Creek CDROM, that's certainly one
avenue of compensation you can and should pursue. If a customer is not
happy with a product, WC would prefer to simply refund their money (nor
does the product have to be returned by the customer - that's simply
extra work for both parties).
