I don't make one red cent from the sale of BSD software, neither do most of the people involved in this thread. The ones who do aren't hoarding the source, they're giving it away. They're simply more interested in the propogation of the underlying principles and protocols of the code, rather than who owns the bits. The fact that Linux and NT both use the socket interface is a "win".
