Check and see if the red light on the controller card is on after
the error.  This would mean that the scsi bus is hung somewhere.
Double check your termination, make sure that term is ON (bios util or with
resistor packs) on the card and that the drive has term set ON as well
(this may be a jumper).  Termination is voodoo stuff.
