I have great respect for everyone@freebsd and am counting on 2.1.6 to be the cornerstone of a project. Being the primary advocate for FreeBSD vs. other options, I'm *really* counting on it! ;-) However, my original comments were indeed based on the observations of someone who has decidely "done their homework" on these types of issues, recognized what was happening, and described it as "incomplete standards compatibility testing during the mastering process". This, in conjunction with Jordan's own statement that 2.1.6 was sorta rushed out indicated that older or more "narrow-minded" CD-ROM drives might possibly have problems with the 2.1.6 disks. Again, no personal offense was intended. Now, back to work! Dave
