I had the same problem initially, but I was able to get some valuable help
from other 386BSD users and the problem went away.

Essentially, you need to make absolutely sure the permissions and owners
are correct on the /var/spool directories.  They need to have writ

I wouldn't kick 386bsd off even if uucico didn't work.  The alternative
would be to go back to DOS, and getting uucp to run under that has got
to be a lot worse than uucp under 386BSD.  Of course, I could go with
Linux, but I'd have to essentially start over from scratch at this
point.
