Well, my BIOS is even older (1992) and I have OnTrack installed, too.
(OnTrack came together with my 2gig Seagate IDE drive).  The system
is working just fine.  I had some quarrels with the default boot selector
that could be cured by installing the other bootmanger (OS-BS).
In case it matters the drive came with OnTrack V7.xx
