ISTR that the Apache package contains an htpasswd. 2) You should post error messages, as opposed to claiming ``I can't get this to compile.'' Don't blindly assume other people will be able to see _your_ errors. 3) Link it with -lcrypt. That's probably even already inside a comment in the Makefile.
