Um, actually as soon as you beyond the drive per interface level. Its not that the individual drives are faster in comparable sizes, but that SCSI allows much better use of multiple drives. Some of the postings, possibly mine, didn't beat on that point. There were a number of people posting about groups of drives, which brings the interface and controller to bus connection into play. I don't think there's any doubt that SCSI is faster than IDE, although possibly not faster (in practice) than ATAPI, until the bus runs out of bandwidth.
